How to wash jeans – some useful tips
Remember to turn jeans inside out before you put them in the washing machine to avoid streaks forming in the creases. Here are some other useful tips about the best way to wash your jeans.
Empty all pockets.
Always wash jeans with similar colours – this is especially important for dark-coloured jeans.
Wash your jeans with a bleach-free detergent and never use fabric softener as this may cause your jeans to lose their elasticity.
Take your jeans out of the washing machine as soon as the laundry cycle is finished. Turn the jeans right side out again, give them a good shake and stretch out the legs.
Let jeans drip dry. Never dry your jeans in a tumble drier as this will make them lose their shape.
Denim gets its characteristic appearance thanks to a special dyeing method which causes the colour to bleed and fade over time. While this applies to dark denim in particular, the same is true for light denim. This is why you should be careful about coming into contact with light-coloured clothes and furniture, as denim garments may transfer unwanted colour to them.
