Meet Teresa

Our Concession Store Manager at House of Fraser, Victoria Square, Belfast has won House of Fraser's prestigious Regional Employee Award! Going the extra mile for her customers and her fun loving nature has stood our energetic Teresa in good stead for nearly nine years with Polarn O. Pyret. We caught up with Teresa to find out more about life in beautiful Belfast:

Where is your favourite place in the area to go for a walk? A place called Cave Hill has the most amazing outlook over Belfast. Or in the Spring, Shaw’s Bridge, just on the outskirts of Belfast has beautiful green scenery with a river running through it. Great for walkers, runners, cyclists and canoeists.  Head there at Easter time to see an ancient tree decorated with eggs and ribbons and then again in May for Mayday when they have dancers with the ribbons. Great family days out!

Your favourite lunch venue in Belfast City Centre? Well the food here in The Ivory House of Fraser really is top notch, they have an amazing chef and hosts. If I'm out with the girls you can't beat Tapas in the little cobbled streets of the cathedral quarter.

If we were to visit Belfast what should be top of our visit list, other than Victoria Square of course!?  Well you would of course have to PO.P  in to see me! Titanic Quarters... the history is amazing. Anything that was saved off the ship they have used. They have recreated the staircase using the original hand rails and they even have the actual ships wheel and bell.

Have you ever had any famous customer's in PO.P Belfast? Yes, lots! I'm a keen baker so I particularly love it when Jenny Bristow the TV cook and writer pops in!

What's your all time favourite PO.P garment? It has to be the Fleece Jacket. Because I know it will get worn over and over again it is great value, and I see kids coming back into the department looking so bright and playful in them.

If you could pursuade the PO.P Designers to make something other than kids clothes what would it be? Adult jeans and outerwear...we are asked for this all the time. I think PO.P used to do it in the 1990's but I know they now want to focus only on kids.

What's your favourite film of all time? Oooh it's a tie between Dirty Dancing and The Godfather. Can you tell I haven't been to the cinema lately?

What's the funniest or strangest thing that's ever happened in your store? I have two hilarious customers from Donagal who call in twice a year. They put our stripy bandanas around their faces and say 'it's a stick up Teresa!'. I have to say generally though, I do have the loveliest customers to work with.
