OUR OUTWEAR GARMENTS ARE COMPLETELY FREE FROM PERFLUORINATED SUBSTANCES (PFCs)
All Polarn O. Pyret’s water-repellent outerwear garments are completely free from waterproofing agents containing perfluorinated substances (PFCs).
They are treated with a PFC-free waterproofing agent to retain the same water-repellent function. We have been using this type of waterproofing for our outerwear garments since the spring of 2015.
PFCs, or perfluorinated substances, are widely used in waterproofing agents to make textile surfaces dirt and water repellent. We have now chosen to phase out these substances completely because of their negative effects on the environment and the work environment. We are now using a waterproofing agent that meets not only our chemical requirements, but also our quality and function requirements. Polarn O. Pyret is constantly working to update its chemical restrictions.
