We’re proud of our sustainability efforts, but we intend to go much further.

We aim to continue raising the bar to keep pace with scientific advancements and new opportunities that emerge, and step by step we’re moving in the right direction. We’ve set some tough goals for the future.


KEY MILESTONES IN OUR SUSTAINABILITY WORK


1987

The first garments in organic cotton are introduced in our product range.



1995/1996

Launch of the Naturecare range, which satisfies strict chemical content requirements and carries the Safe Textile label.



2005

Membership of BSCI.



2006

We join Swerea’s Chemicals Group.



2006

Establishment of a Quality Department, with textile engineers responsible for product quality, chemical and environmental issues.



2007

Launch of Nordic Swan Eco-label collection. First Sustainability Report released.



2008

Our classic striped basic collection gets Nordic Swan Eco-label certification.



2010

We join STWI to greatly reduce water consumption in our manufacture process.



2013

We join the Better Cotton Initiative.

2014

An official agreement on fire and building safety in Bangladesh is signed.



2015

All water-resistant outerwear garments are now completely free from PFCs.



2015

Launch of swimwear and UPF 50+ beachwear made from recycled fishing nets



2015

All plastic bags in store are now made of recycled materials and oyster shells, which is a renewable source



2016

We join STWI Projects for improved water and chemicals management in the production process



2017

All of our BABY Collection is now made with sustainable cotton



2018

Cotton used in ALL ages is now made from sustainable sources



2019

PO.P REPAIRS

We now offer a FREE repairs service for zips and poppers on all of our outerwear, regardless of when it was purchased!



2020

100% of our cotton is now organic!


Our UV swimwear is made from recycled fishing nets.

 

Spring 2020

100% of our cotton garments are organic from socks to jeans to nightwear.

100% of our cotton Babywear is GOTS certified organic.

Autumn 2020

100% of our nightwear and underwear will be GOTS certified organic
