We're thrilled to have won the Drapers 'Best Circularity Initiative' for 2023.

This initiative recognizes brands across the UK that have made significant progress towards adopting a circular business model in the previous 12 months. We are up against huge competition from the likes of Ebay, M&S, Barbour and Mulberry.

Our goal for PO.P Second Hand is to ensure our products can be loved and worn by at least three children.

Judges emphasised how strong this category was and wanted all to acknowledge the progress of all entrants. However we were specifically praised for putting circulaity so clearly at the core of our business and growth plans and for havng the data to back it up, while others were impressed at how we evidenced that a second-hand marketplace was enabling us to produce fewer new products.

PO.P Second Hand wouldn’t be possible without our partners GXO (formerly Clipper), the force behind the scenes hand checking and rejuvenating items ready for new owners, and even setting up a photography studio to allow us to resell the products on our website. We are so grateful to GXO for working along side us to make this happen. We also thank Tern, who supply the app which allows our PO.P cus-tomers to easily trade in their used PO.P items.

Longevity is at the heart of our design ethos and we already make clothes to last at least three children. And now, with our award winning PO.P Second Hand Service, we are providing our customers with a one-stop destination to buy and sell pre-loved PO.P.

Polarn O. Pyret has won a coveted Drapers Sustainable Fashion Award.

The results of the Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards 2023 were revealed on 25 May at The Brewery, London, where the fashion industry came together at a glittering gala ceremony to celebrate positive change.

Judged by an independent panel of experts, this market-leading awards programme shines a spotlight on best practice within the industry, so others can learn how to change for good. The judging was underpinned by the UN-backed Sustainable Development Goals, which address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change and environmental degradation.

Now in their 4th year, but happening for the first time in person, the Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards shine a spotlight on the best of the best, highlighting those who are reducing the industry’s environmental impact and creating fairer working conditions across the supply chain.

The awards cover the entire spectrum of sustainable fashion retail. Categories include Best Carbon Footprint Initiative, Best Use of Technology for Good, Positive Change Award and Ones to Watch.

Polarn O. Pyret has won in the Best Circularity Initiative and was praised by the panel of expert judges.

Jill Geoghegan, Drapers editor, said: “We’re three years into what’s been deemed the critical decade in the fight against climate change. Forward-thinking fashion businesses know change is not an option and are embracing their responsibilities and ability to make a difference, despite challenging trading conditions. At Drapers, we’re proud to support and unite the industry, shining a spotlight on best practice, and celebrating the positive change happening in fashion retail.”
